  • Suggestions for Faction Wars and Survival Rewards

    Hello, this is thread number 1 of 4.

    I am going to make a series of suggestions regarding our events and schedules. I invite everyone to share their opinions of what they like, don’t like, etc. My other related threads are Club events, PVP rewards, and Event schedules.

    Let’s start with some general observations and expectations. I look at rewards and try to find balance and logical order. When it comes to Legendary and Mythic curios, lower ranked players will get more benefit from Legendary curios than higher ranked players. The higher ranked players have generally moved beyond the need for most Legendary curios. So when viewed as a ratio of Legendary Cores to Mythic Cores, lower ranked players would get a slightly higher portion of Legendary Cores while higher ranked players would get a slightly higher portion of Mythic Cores.

    Prize tiers should not have gaps or sudden jumps in distribution. The tiers should also make sense in the range of possible scores.

    There have been some cases where Epic curios have been given out as high tier prizes. That is just not desired. Mythics and Legends are fine as prizes but Epics are easy to obtain through the shop.

    Defined AP rewards have disappeared from events but now are randomly found in chests. Several members of my club have mentioned a desire to see a return of the AP. Perhaps Survival and Faction Wars could offer AP rewards as a way to encourage club members to remain active in all events in order to perform better in the club events. AP rewards would not be necessary in CW and CVC, so that players not interested in club participation would not feel obligated to join a club. PVP can be looked at separately and does not really warrant the inclusion of AP rewards either. Actually for some people, getting AP in PVP, CVC, and CW discourages them from participating in Survival and Faction Wars because they would rather save the AP for club events.

    I am not saying that the devs have to use the exact prize distribution that I am going to lay out but I do think that my suggestions are reasonable to all parties.

      I understand there was some disappointment in past events with FW prizes that were determined randomly by which faction was chosen. Especially when there were seven different possibilities of placement.

      I would propose that four factions of two elements each be used per event. Randomly change the combos for each event. But make the prizes the same for each faction with only the corresponding top prize curios being different, to match the faction. This gives more of a sense of competition instead of everyone being in the same faction. How is that a faction war?

        The mythic curio could be one faction element and the legendary curio could be the second faction element.

        Many of the tier prizes are lower than the originals but please realize that all four factions are getting these prizes. So four people will get the rank 1 prizes and a total of 100 people will get the rank 26-50 prizes. I have smoothed out the distribution of the cores. And I have added AP rewards.

            I am mostly just smoothing out the distribution here as well as the point tiers. I do think some AP rewards would be suitable.

                Faction Wars prizes really suck.
                A single pvp event could give better loot than Faction Wars and since Faction Wars is two days long and a single pvp is one day, if you combine two pvp's loots than you will have better loot than Faction Wars unless you are above rank 50.

                For example: If I am in the top 100 of the last place faction: earth.
                The prizes are:
                4 mythic cores, 8 legend cores, 30 gems, and two mythic chests.

                But another player is much weaker and is in rank 1001-15000 but is in the first faction: water.
                The prizes are:
                4 mythic cores, 9 legend cores, 25 gems, and one legend chest.

                The prizes are not that different and my account is getting ripped off and getting almost the same loot for being in the top 100 in third place as rank 1001-15000 for first place. And another issue is that whichever faction is in first place has the rewards go down to rank 15000. After 15000 no one gets rewards. But in 2nd and 3rd place it stops giving rewards at rank 10000. That means 10000 less people get rewards than they would if both went to 15000.

                No one gets to choose their faction. The rewards depend way too much on randomly being placed in the "best" faction.

                  Here is my last Faction Wars loot, I was in last faction for the second time in a row so the rewards are horrible:

                  As you can see, a single PvP loot IS better than being in last faction and being anywhere from rank 10000 to rank 50.
